Care home population stabilises as unpaid carer population increases

The population of England and Wales is ageing due to increases in life expectancy and historically low birth rates. This shift will inevitably impact on the labour market, pension provision, and health and social care demand.

How religion has changed in England and Wales

The landscape of religion in England and Wales is changing. The decade 2001 to 2011 saw a fall in the number of people identifying as Christian, and an increase in those identifying with minority religious groups and those reporting no religion.

Where do single people live in England and Wales?

The 2011 Census showed that 51% of adults in England and Wales were single, a rise from 47% in 2001. The concentration of single people however, varied across England and Wales.
